Welcome to Locomotion Dance Studios, where student enjoyment is at the heart of every session. We pride ourselves on creating an environment enriched with encouragement and praise, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere where every dancer can flourish. Our studio offers a progressive and rewarding OFQUAL framework of education, delivering comprehensive training across six traditional dance styles – ballet, tap, contemporary modern jazz, theatre craft, freestyle, and acrobatic dance.
Beyond regular classes, students have the option to participate in IDTA examinations that assess their skills and progress formally. Additionally, we offer exciting opportunities for students to showcase their talents through on-stage performances and outdoor appearances supporting local community events, plus in-lesson performances for families.

The term “Locomotion” originates from the Latin words loco (place) and motio (to move), embodying the essence of movement from one point to another. It is a self-propelled, purposeful motion that allows a person or object to traverse space, driven by internal impulses and external stimuli.
